    I am at level 3 thanks to following your tips ie slow and slower eccentrics + partial rang drills. I never manàged to do a straddle press up against the wall, it kills my wrists and neck. But I recently manage to press to hs without touching the wall 🎉(next step is to be brave enough to press to hs far from the wall...).

    Hi , Paul. Thanks very much for such good videos. I am able to do the prerequisites, I have been doing the ‘toes pull’ for half a year specially… now I can stand for 10-20, sometimes 30 sec chest to wall after the toes pull.. but still cannot understand how to control different shapes after kick up.

    I'm amazed to see that I have all the prequests you mentioned, from mobility, to hold in supported positions, but I still can kick to handstand, I guess it's psychological and I'm just scared to my bones, and it effects the bodies ability to preform in control. I'll try the last part of the video, that's the only thing I never did

    ‏‪ ‏‪1:42‬‏ I'm so confused, you are kicking you legs towards the wall here, I just heard another of your video when you instructing not to kick to the wall but upwards 😫

    What abt arm position? Should it be straight or bent at the start??

  • @s0me0nelse
    @s0me0nelse 13 годин тому

    When you are in the handstand, you got lordosis in your lumber spine, which means all the weight of you lower body balance with your upper body by pressing on the lumber spine as a lever, that can cause sharp pain in there, especially when I getting there through a bursting force like a kick which initially put much more stress on that part of the spine, how do you avoid that?

  • @s0me0nelse
    @s0me0nelse 13 годин тому

    ‏‪5:19‬‏ I don't understand the difference between kick towards the wall and and kick upwards, in both cases you kick to the same direction. That isn't so clear from the video. And another thing, many time when I kick, although my hands are locked and steady, I feel like there is energy that goes to left or right that threatening to make me collapse, altough I'm not aiming to any lateral direction, sometimes I fall and sometimes I just abort because I sense it and fear to fall. Did you address it? I didn't noticed you did.

    Focal position is something that has been a big learning. Not that you need to keep it consistent, but that my focal point needs to be in between my wrists if not a little further back. My comment would therefore be you need to be consistent, it your focal point may be different to someone else’s.

    Besides your handstand exercises do you do any other exercises.? I ask this because you upper arms looking very strong. Is that only the result of doing handstands all the time or some other exercises too.??

      I have been doing only handstands and calisthenics strength for the last 11 years. Normal weight training before that. The Ring strength in my calisthenics training is great for building/maintaining arm size.

    Bringing the shoulders back to rest on the wall is deceptively hard. I've been trying it the last few weeks, after seeing you do it on a different video, and still have a ways to go to make that happen.

    For HSPU I really like the position where you are back to wall one (or even 2 😊) leg touching the wall then lowering to the flor (HSPU eccentric). Saw that mentioned/practiced by you Paul also.

    I used to have a basement full of Olympic weights, dumbbells, and a weight stack machine. I eventually got rid of all that equipment and now have a very simple setup. I have a wall and the floor. And, as Paul emphasized, if you aren’t interested in pulling exercises, that is all you need. I still have rings, a set of parallettes, a dip and pull-up tower; but, I do much of my pull-up exercise using a lat machine bar that is placed between the floor joists and isn’t even secured. I like the simplicity of bodyweight exercise and the ability to train anywhere. Good video, Paul with good recommendations.
